Nicholas Briseno has spent most of his life seeing how far he could take the things that held his attention. As a child, that instinct showed up in video games. Later, it was racecars, finance, and the constant challenge of getting better at whatever he chose to pursue. The subject changed, but the impulse remained the same: mastery mattered.

Then his relationship with time changed. Briseno flatlined three times and survived. What came after became the foundation of The XXXX Collection. The four Xs are not an abstract logo. They represent what Briseno considers his fourth life, a life shaped by the understanding that time is finite, the future is never promised, and there is only so much value in waiting for “someday.” That belief became Rise by Design.

For Briseno, Rise by Design is not motivational language. It is a way of living. The past has already happened. The future has not. The present is where action still exists. Fashion became the next place to test that philosophy. Briseno did not arrive through the traditional route. He came to clothing through instinct, personal style, proportion, and an obsession with how what someone wears can change the way they move through the world. He cared about presence before he cared about category.

That perspective led to ACTIVE00, the inaugural collection from The XXXX Collection. ACTIVE00 is built around movement, but not exercise. It is designed for lives that shift constantly between places, roles, and environments. The collection asks whether one wardrobe can move through all of it without asking the wearer to become someone different at every stop.

The clothes carry the same discipline as the philosophy behind them. Oversized forms sit against sculpted silhouettes. Function is integrated rather than advertised. The X appears not only as a dimensional insignia, constructed through eight sewn layers with rubberized thread, but as a recurring design code embedded into the garments themselves. Each piece is produced in a finite edition of 500, with no endless restock of the same release.

The details reveal Briseno’s nature. The Arrival Oversized Hoodie went through 11 samples and 16 shades of black before reaching its final form. That level of repetition is not about perfection for its own sake. It is about taking the thing in front of you seriously enough to keep pushing it.

XXXX is still young, but it was never conceived as clothing alone. Sound, collaboration, physical experience, and other creative expressions are being built into the world from the beginning. Much of that world remains intentionally unseen. ACTIVE00 is simply the first evidence of what Nicholas Briseno is choosing to build with his fourth life.
