The Edit is the monthly journal of The XXXX Collection. A record of what is shaping the house now: the work in progress, the people around it, the pieces in motion, the references behind them and the ideas that continue to surface.
Inside the house, we look at what is being made, photographed, tested and reconsidered. Outside of it, The Collective takes over. We follow where XXXX goes once it leaves us: how it is worn, reinterpreted and carried through different cities, seasons, hours and lives.
Each edition also looks beyond the immediate. A garment is traced back to its origin. A construction detail is reconsidered. An object we see every day is given context. The hoodie, the cargo pocket, the T-shirt, the drawstring, the uniform. Familiar things become more interesting when you know where they came from.
Five questions with Nicholas offer a more immediate view of the person behind the house: what he is photographing, listening to, noticing, questioning and thinking about next. The Edit closes with something worth keeping: a line, a poem, a proverb, a word or an idea that stays with us after the page is closed.
The Edit is not a catalogue of what is new. It is a document of what has our attention.
